UX is not UI + User Research for UX/UI Design | CPE123 Week 2
This week professor mostly talks about UX is not UI, User Research for UX/UI Design, and good brainstorming. And also talk a little bit about UML (Unified Modeling Language).
UX/UI summary
What is UX Design?
UX (User Experience) is how the user interacts with an experience of a product, system, or service. Including a person's perceptions of utility, ease of use, and efficiency.
UX is important to most companies, designers, and creators when creating and refining products because negative user experience can diminish the use of the product.
What is UI Design?
UI (User Interface ) is the point of human-computer interaction and communication in a device. Including display screens, keyboards, mouse, and the appearance of a desktop. It is also the way through which a user interacts with an application or a website.
UI refers to the screens, buttons, toggles, icons, and other visual elements that you interact with when using a website, app, or other electronic devices.
Summary
UX is what you did. It is a user journey. It is TECHNICAL.
UI is what user see. It is EMOTIONAL.
UI is just a small part of UX.
User Research for UX/UI Design
1. You have to know your context. (Ex.for Education, Finance, News, etc.)
2. Think about wireframing (things that describe detailed design for example font, color, layout).
3. Website must be responsive (can be changed to any device's display).
4. Design by the users is a center. (by observing the user)
- let the program be worth to use
- let the program be easy to navigate
- let users be happy while using the program
*** Flutter program is a program that makes UI

Brainstorming Techniques
1. Think in big picture.
2. Understand stakeholders (the user and your team) by talking to or observing them.
3. Stakeholders must have a common understanding (maybe take note by discussing and recap or discussing again 15 mins. before work).
4. Listen to everyone, don't judge, and list all the ideas.
5. Everyone must think together. What is UML?
UML (Unified Modeling Language ) is a general-purpose, developmental, modeling language in the field of software engineering that is intended to provide a standard way to visualize the design of a system.
